The following race categories are in place for 2008. The children's races are all 1500m. Trophies will be presented for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in every race. The Children's Presentation will take place just before the start of the Mayor's 5Km Fun Run at 11:45am.

11:15am - Primary School Boys Years 5 & 6
11:30am - Secondary School Boys & Girls Years 9 & 10

The 5Km Fun Run is the same course as normal with 3 loops around the streets of Carmarthen. There will be trophies awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each category below. There will also be a special prize for the Best Fancy Dress as chosen by the Mayor himself.
